A carrier is the mobile operator that assigns a user's IP — MTS, Vodafone, Airtel, or dozens of other regional operators depending on geo. It's identified from the ASN and IP range behind the connection, making it one of the clearest signals of traffic quality. In PWA arbitrage, carrier data separates real mobile visitors from datacenters, VPNs, and bots.

How carrier is detected from a click

Carrier is resolved from the ASN tied to an IP range — a GeoIP/IP-intel database maps that range to a specific operator. The same geo can serve traffic through a dozen carriers, and quality varies a lot between them: some skew toward real subscribers, others toward proxy pools and device farms. An IP resolving to a datacenter or cloud provider instead of a carrier is almost always a red flag for a bot or a scanner, not a real user.
