WAP-click, or one-click billing, is a mobile payment flow where a single tap on the lander confirms a subscription and the charge goes straight to the user's mobile carrier balance, no card details or confirmation code required. It was historically common in mobile content and subscription offers.
How it works technically
When traffic arrives over an actual mobile carrier connection, not Wi-Fi, the service identifies the user's number or session through the carrier network, and one tap on the button confirms the subscription — the charge lands on the phone balance with no further steps. That's where the one-click name comes from.
How relevant it still is
Regulation in many countries now requires double opt-in or SMS confirmation, so a pure one-tap flow is rarer than it used to be, though it still shows up alongside some DCB offers. The hard requirement is that traffic has to arrive over the carrier's own mobile network, not Wi-Fi, or the flow simply won't fire.
