Cloaking is the technique of showing a safe white page to bots and moderators and the real offer to targeted live traffic. In FB affiliate marketing it is a survival condition.
How cloaking works
The cloak analyzes the request (user-agent, IP, geo, device) and decides what to show. A bot or moderator gets a neutral white; a live targeted user gets the showcase or offer. Good cloaking runs at the edge, before the page loads.
What is filtered
Crawlers by user-agent, datacenters and VPNs by IP intelligence, the wrong geo and suspicious devices. The key is not to cut real users on mobile and Wi-Fi, or you lose conversions with the bots.
